The CX102’s Responsive Hammer Lite action delivers a natural, expressive touch that helps pianists build finger strength and refine their technique, with graded keys that faithfully reproduce the feel of an acoustic grand piano.
Incorporating the precision of hammer-sensing technology and damping mechanisms derived from Kawai’s premium instruments, the RHL action ensures smooth, responsive playability while reducing mechanical noise for a more enjoyable and quieter practice experience at home.
Weight of keys of an acoustic piano
Just as acoustic pianos use heavier hammers in the bass and lighter ones in the treble, the RH Lite action also employs appropriately graded hammer weights for each register.
These refinements provide greater stability during fortissimo passages while preserving delicate control in pianissimo, meeting the demands of even the most discerning pianists.

The CX102 reproduces the magnificent tone of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano, the flagship of the brand. This exceptional instrument is hand-crafted by dedicated artisans at the Shigeru Kawai Research and Development Laboratory in Ryuyo, Japan, and it is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious in its class.
Additional sounds and play modes
In addition to its realistic acoustic piano sounds, the CX102 also offers a selection of additional instrument sounds, such as electric pianos, organs, harpsichord, vibraphone, and strings.
The two play modes, Dual and Split , allow two different sounds to be combined — for example, an acoustic piano with a string ensemble, or even a bass guitar — to create a richer texture and further inspire musical creativity.
Integrated Bluetooth® MIDI and Audio wireless connectivity
In addition to a USB-MIDI port for connecting to a computer, the CX102 is also equipped with the integrated Bluetooth MIDI technology , allowing the digital piano to communicate wirelessly with compatible smart devices.
Once paired with a phone, tablet, or laptop, the CX102 owner can easily control the instrument or display the scores of the built-in lesson songs using dedicated apps, PianoRemote and PiaBookPlayer. In addition, the instrument’s features can be further enhanced by a wide variety of third-party apps for education, performance, and notation — all without the need for adapters or additional cables.
High-performance speaker system
(with Low Volume Balance function)
The stereo speaker system of the CX102 offers an impressive power of 22W, sufficient to fill a medium-sized room with the beautiful tones of the Shigeru Kawai grand piano.
In addition, when played at a reduced volume (so as not to disturb others), the Low Volume Balance functionintelligently adjusts the keyboard response and piano sound characteristics, allowing pianissimo passages to be played more smoothly and naturally.
